Artist Spotlight: Phone Calls From Home

Hey everyone!

It's Tuesday and you know what that means, it's time for this week's edition of Artist Spotlight! This week, we have a little local flavor to add into the mix as we have a band right out of Boston called Phone Calls From Home! The band consists of Dave Place on lead vocals and bass, Zack Gowan on guitar, Danny Stockman on drums, and Jason Vieira on guitar. The band has an intense, youthful pop-punk sound similar to the likes of All Time Low and another local pop-punk band making it big, Boys Like Girls. Dave's vocals have an intense, melodic energy that permeates through the whole song and enhances the allure of the guitars, making the sound protrude through the speakers. There's a huge crop of pop-punk bands out there today that are hard to sift out and gather the true message of what they're trying to say in their music, but this band has true heart and passion for what they're doing and they have that message in their music that they can convey to their listening audience and one that the audience can identify with as well. Some of my favorite songs from these guys include "Coming Back To The World" and "Gone".
