Artist Spotlight: Viva Brother

Hey everyone!

It's Tuesday and time to check out this week's edition of Artist Spotlight! This week, we head across the pond to Slough, England and check out the sweet sounds of Viva Brother. Viva Brother formed just last year and the group consists of Leonard Newell, Joshua Ward, Samuel Jackson, and Franklin Colucci. The band have a strong alt/indie-rock influence to them, reminiscent of fellow British groups such as Blur and The Smiths, and have incredible melodic undertones spread throughout their music. The band's first single from their debut album Famous First Words is called "Darling Buds of May" and has been getting regular radio airplay on alternative rock stations across the country. I recently just had the pleasure of checking out this band a few weeks ago in concert at Hurricane O"Reilly's in Boston where they performed at an acoustic show sponsored by local Boston radio station WFNX. Another awesome British band The Kooks headlined the show (please check them out also!), but Viva Brother really left an indelible impression on me with their hooks and strong musicianship that was present throughout their performance. That concert left plenty to be desired from myself and everyone else who gathered there to watch them deliver an outstanding set!
