The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its nominees for the Class of 2012 today, and the list includes some very notable names that have helped shape the music of today. Rounding out the list is Joan Jett, The Cure, Guns N' Roses, and Heart. Other musicians that made it onto the ballot include Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Spinners, Donovan, Beastie Boys, War, and Donna Summer. Nominees are chosen by a committee and are then voted on by a pool of musicians, media, and industry people. The winners will be announced in December and the induction ceremony will take place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14 in Cleveland.
