Today's Artist Spotlight comes to us courtesy of the Oxford, England based band known as A Silent Film! The band consists of Robert Stevenson on lead vocals and piano, Karl Bareham on guitar, Ali Hussain on bass, and Spencer Walker on drums. The band has an ambient, piano based feel to them similar to the likes of Keane and Snow Patrol with a distinct and original sound that makes them easily identifiable to their listening audience. The band are huge movie buffs, as evidenced by the name of their group and their music does make a great soundtrack to your everyday life, and is designed to give you a everyday boost to get you going throughout the day. I stumbled across their song "Harbour Lights" randomly on the radio and I was impressed with the band's simple and straightforward musical approach when crafting their songs, and really admired the aesthetic that they put into account as they were in the studio recording this album. A great on-the-rise artist that I hope to hear more from in the coming months.
