Starting off your Tuesday with a brand new edition of Artist Spotlight! Today, we head down to Easton, PA and uncover the deep sounds of Our Griffins. The group consists of DJ Brown, Travis Hobbie, Luming Hao, Alex Luquet, and John Kimock. The music is an introspective and downtempo blend of indie rock influences mixed in with a subtle synth arrangement that gives the band a hint of diversity to go along with their outstanding lyricism that is one of the strong suits of their music. I was impressed with them upon first listen, and I really gravitated towards the lyrics specifically that eventually allowed me to fall for the melodies that told the story that was contained within the words that really gave me the ability to grasp the emotional intensity of what was going on in the music and how it correlates to the disc as a whole. A terrific upstart band definitely worthy of a mention here on the site. Some tracks for you to check out include "Blood On My Sleeves" and "Not Here Entirely".
