Kicking off the week with another all new edition of Artist Spotlight! Today, we head over to Allston, MA (otherwise known as Allston Rock City) and check in with the emerging and frenetic sounds of Abadabad. The band consists of Jeremy Given, Adam Young, Welly Netto, Tim Batchelor, and Josh Northcutt. The band's music is an eclectic and exciting mixture of garage rock rhythms a la The Strokes mixed in with a subtle, dance-rock element that will definitely keep you on your toes and into the groove as you experience the otherworldly vibe that the band have created specifically for this occasion. You may remember my post about them a couple of weeks back featuring their new song "Take It Slow" that I proclaimed as one of the definitive summer anthems of 2013, and it's apparent that they have something special going on here with one of the most catchiest and best produced tracks from a local band that I've heard in quite some time. A terrific local band that is only going to get more popular and widespread over time. Other recommended tracks for you to take a listen at include "All The Bros Say" and "Babe Mountain".
