Readying another installment of Artist Spotlight for you today! On this edition, we head up to Bangor, ME and seek out the eclectic sounds of When Particles Collide. The duo consists of Sasha Alcott and Chris Viner, and the music is an organically composed, straightforward blend of indie rock mixed in with a hint of hard rocking attitude reminiscent of The Pixies that gives the band some leverage and puts them in a class all their own among the other New England based acts currently making it out there today. I've caught these guys in concert a couple of times, and recently rediscovered their music and I was impressed with their ability to weave a certain alt rock edge within their sound that makes them edgy, willing to take a creative risk, and capable of handling anything that is thrown their away with remarkable aplomb and sophistication. A great New England based act that is ready to get more exposure outside the confines of their hometown. Some recommended tracks for you to check out include "Straight Girls" and "Moles".
