Artist Spotlight: Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers

Back to kick off an all new edition of Artist Spotlight for the week! Today, we head over to Lansing, Michigan and uncover the vibrant and diverse sounds of Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers. The band consists of Joe Hertler on lead vocals, guitar, and harmonica, Ryan Hoger on guitar, Kevin Pritchard on bass, Pinetop Deadfish on drums, Mickey Soho on piano, and Aaron Stinson on saxophone. The music covers a wide range of influences including folk and some Motown blended wonders that sounds like a lovechild between Broken Social Scene and The Lumineers with a whole host of musical wonders just waiting to be discovered. I was impressed with the band's ability to bring everything to the forefront here, including all of their musical influences and present themselves the way they intended with high energy rhythms and moving, transcendent vocals that left me with my jaw on the floor by the time I was through listening to them. I really enjoyed the addition of a saxophone into the mix, and Aaron's musical wisdom lends a great deal to the band's musical dexterity and allows them to move on a higher pedestal than other bands within their respective genre. A terrific upstart band that is primed to get their second wind sooner or later. Some recommended songs for you to take a listen at include "Your Story" and "Hometown".
