Artist Spotlight: Caspian

Starting off the first official day of summer and headed into the weekend with an all new edition of Artist Spotlight! Today, we head up to the North Shore to Beverly, MA and uncover the diverse sounds of Caspian. The band consists of Philip Jamieson, Joe Vickers, Erin Burke-Moran, Calvin Joss, Chris Friedrich, and Jonny Ashburn. The group has an eclectic, ambient musical approach to their songs that borders somewhere between indie-rock and alternative with some hard rocking interludes embedded somewhere in between. I was amazed with the overall simplicity of this group, and how meticulous they were in creating their music and how it doesn't need classification to fall into one specific genre, and I feel that's the great thing about music where you shouldn't feel the need to group bands together with other artists that sound somewhat similar, when in actuality they have vast differences between the other groups that make them wholly unique and true originals who are masters of their craft. An unsung act that is definitely deserving of more exposure here on the blog and elsewhere. Some recommended tracks to check out from their catalogue include "Moksha" and "Some Are White Light".

For more information on the guys in Caspian, head on over to their Facebook page here and don't forget to 'Like' it so that you can stay up to date with everything that they have going on in their world. You can follow the band on Twitter right over here and find out when the band will be making an appearance in the MA area with a live concert appearance! Visit the group's official website here for more in depth info pertaining to the band, and all the band's music is available for streaming and/or purchase from their Bandcamp site located right here.
