Artist Spotlight: The Royal Concept

Another edition of Artist Spotlight awaits, and this time we head overseas to Stockholm, Sweden where we get acquainted with the sounds of The Royal Concept. The band consists of David Larson on lead vocals, guitar, and keyboard, Filip Bekic on guitar, Robert Magnus on bass, and Frans Povel on drums. The band has an eclectic mixture of alternative rhythms laced in with an indie-synth hybrid that is completely extraordinary and allows the group to angle their sound towards listeners from all across the musical spectrum that enables them to capture an entire cross section of the listener population who may not have of heard their music before, and are thrilled they got the opportunity to check out when they did. I loved these guys from the start when I first caught their concert performance on the tube last weekend, which was a mostly sweat filled affair that resulted in Daniel performing shirtless much to the delight of the females in attendance, but I generally appreciated them as musicians and regular people who love what they do for a living. You can clearly tell how much they generally appreciate playing for their fans and that shows in their music where they are looking to expand out of their Swedish homeland. A standout track to check out from the guys is "On Our Way".
